Mazare, the northeast Italian producer, unveils ‘Unholy‘, a collaboration with German metalcore group IMPVLSE, out now via Universal Music Italy. In recent years, Mazare has earned steady support from electronic heavyweights including SLANDER, Illenium, Seven Lions, Said The Sky, Dabin, Koven, and Don Diablo, while releases on Monstercat and Insomniac Records have pushed his Spotify streams past 35 million. Influenced early by his father’s Pink Floyd, U2, and Genesis records, Mazare gravitated toward electronic music after encountering David GuettasWhen Love Takes Over‘ in 2009. His sound fuses heavy metal-electronic hybrids with melodic pop-rock, channeling The Prodigy, Noisia, and Bring Me The Horizon to shape a distinctive, internationally resonant style.

In “Unholy,” Mazare blends his two favorite genres, metal and drum and bass, through a structure directly inspired by Bring Me The Horizon’s ability to shift seamlessly from heavy riff sections and screams to super catchy big chorus sections. He recreates that feel by moving between tension-building verses and breakdowns and the anthemic choruses, while IMPVLSE’s frontman nails both the clean melodic passages and the heavy sections with equal strength. The result is a fully integrated sound in which neither genre feels secondary, allowing the vocal contrasts to heighten the track’s impact.

Mazare shared: “As with all the tracks in this EP, the goal with ‘Unholy‘ was to blend my two favorite genres, metal and drum and bass. This one is specifically inspired by Bring Me The Horizon and their ability to shift seamlessly from heavy riff sections and screams to super catchy, big chorus sections. I tried to recreate that structure and feel while writing the song, and IMPVLSE absolutely nailed the performance on both the clean sections and the heavy ones.”
