Born in Tokyo and scouted at age ten into the Japanese teen pop group HappyNs, Skye Holland relocated to Victoria, Canada, at twelve and watched her music obsession deepen. ‘Automatic’ marks the latest single, out now via Prodigy Records, and finds Skye Holland testing a drum-and-bass groove. The song sketches the effortless pull of true unrequited love and the way it simply unfolds on its own. Upbeat percussion locks in with a massive reese bass to frame her smooth vocals, while produced by regular partner Steve Kroeger into a crisp pop-DnB piece.
