MIN t released her third album, Before The After, on May 8th. The artist behind the moniker is Martyna Kubicz, who was born in Poland and now lives in Berlin. She is a singer, songwriter, composer, producer, and mix engineer. Her musical journey began with classical piano lessons at age seven, followed by 12 years at a music school in Wrocław. By 16, she was writing songs and playing in local bands, trying out jazz, pop, soul, and electronic music. At 18, she started producing her own tracks with Ableton and later received a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in Valencia. MIN t describes her music as genreless, blending electronic, pop, and R’nB, and draws inspiration from artists such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, Charli XCX, D’Angelo, FKA twigs, and Aretha Franklin.

The album opens with the title track, ‘Before The After,’ which features energetic drum and bass rhythms, a strong bassline, and lively vocals. Swelling synths build anticipation and draw listeners into the album’s atmosphere. Prior singles ‘Hope’ and ‘Last Day’ introduced this new era, with ‘Hope’ also dropping with a memorable music video. Songs like ‘Last Day,’ and ‘Water’ show a more vulnerable side, mixing honest lyrics with the upbeat feel of UK-garage beats. ‘Digital Flower’ highlights her skill for detailed production with its glitchy layers, while ‘Hangover’ brings in reggaeton rhythms, showing her ability to move between different genres with ease.

MIN t shared: “Before the After tells the story of a tainted world where hope is becoming harder and harder to find. Each song strips away another layer of my belief in a better tomorrow. I explore themes of apocalypse, self-destruction, and toxic relationships, as reality itself begins to fall apart. Yet, on the ruins of that reality, I still see a chance to reclaim my agency. For me, becoming aware of my own mistakes is the first step toward change, and transformation can ultimately lead to regaining control over my own life. Sonically, the album is a fusion of bass music and R&B, where I experiment with different styles and textures, pushing boundaries while staying emotionally raw and honest.”
