The UK duo Koven stands out with their drum & bass remix. Koven, made up of producer Max Rowat and vocalist/DJ Katie Boyle, have spent over ten years creating bass music that blends heavy drops with real emotion, drawing from drum & bass, dubstep, and strong vocals. They started working together in 2014, releasing early tracks like ‘Another Home‘ and ‘Petrichor‘ that showed their chemistry. Their debut album Butterfly Effect came out during the UK’s 2020 lockdown and was praised for its depth. In 2025, Moments in Everglow took things further with orchestral builds, choir sounds, and collaborations like ‘Nervous System‘ with Steve Aoki and ‘Polarised‘ with ÆON:MODE. Their single ‘The High We Seek‘ was named BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record by Jack Saunders, earning them more airplay, support from MTV, and a sold-out headline show at Outernet London with big visuals and live energy.
Koven‘s remix keeps the original’s emotional pull but pushes it firmly into drum & bass territory, borrowing speed garage influences for a densely layered feel. Scurrying nanobot percussion moves underneath aggressive bass zaps and a steady chugging eighth-note bassline that gives the track real drive, while hypnotic repetition, arpeggios, and shifting FX build tension before the drop. The commanding vocal lifts everything into clear, hands-in-the-air moments, balancing the heavier low-end with melodic precision that ties back to Audien‘s Grammy-nominated songwriting and Koven‘s signature way of pairing grit with melody.
The EP rounds out with SILK‘s stutter-house version, fueled by his 60-million-plus streams, and Falden‘s deeper melodic spin, shaped by his output on This Never Happened and Anjunadeep, plus nods from Above & Beyond and BBC Radio 1. Together with the original, it makes for a release that works across club systems and playlists, keeping the track’s core feeling while opening it to new crowds.
