JAS CRW has been slowly revealing their masterpiece of an EP, with a single released here and a song shared there. The latest reveal was the dancehall track, ‘Report (prod. by Jamie Rodigan)’ which was premiered via CLASH Magazine and will be the last song to be shared before the EP (Greetings From) will be released on the 28th of August.
The trio had the following to say about the song: “Having spent more than half a year on the hard disk before the project actually got finished, report had a little heavy birth. Although the framework for the beats and parts of the lyrics were mostly set with a heavy dancehall beat, there was still something missing to further work on it. After sending the demo to Jaime Rodigan it came back way different then expected. It’s mellow and hard but comes with a fresh and modern breeze. And that was the missing part to polish this track that talks about the troubles and thoughts that come with loneliness.”
JAS CRW are currently making themselves known on the airwaves with support from BBC Radio 1’s Toddla, BBC 1Xtra’s David Rodigan, Reprezent Radio, Heart of Love Radio and Apple Music’s New Music Daily. However, they were also picked up by Muze FM who had the following to say:
“‘Report’ can deceive with its breezy atmosphere that the trio delivers in the form of laidback 90’s hip-hop flow, but the underlying message highlights the harsh realities plaguing our generation.” You can read the full feature here.
